Edward Lee Lyman was born in Talala, Oklahoma, to Levi and Maggie Sangster Lyman on February 24, 1921, and died at his home in Montgomery, Alabama, on September 15, 2009, at the age of 88. Ed or Eddie, as many called him, was employed for 40 years at Tidewater Oil Company/Getty Oil Company. He worked in the East Texas oilfields and Gas/Sulphur Recovery Plants in Texas, and Alabama. He participated in Army training in San Antonio, Texas, prior to the war and was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Mason.
Mr. Lyman was preceded in death by his parents; and two wives, Dwadie Smith Lyman and Rae White Lyman; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Gene and Ruth Lyman of Spring, Texas. Mr. Lyman is survived by brother, Wayne Lyman and wife Dale of Hallsville, Texas; one sister, Nettie Marable and friend, Henry Pharr of Gladewater, Texas; one daughter and husband, Janeen and Marc Rose of Garland, Texas; grandson, Kyle Lyman Nelson of Springtown, Texas; great-grandson, Cade Sterlin Nelson, age 6; and many nephews and nieces.

Memorial Services at this church will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to attend. Lunch for all will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
