Edward Martin Obituary
Ed Martin had a remarkable career that spanned football and law enforcement. After attending the University of Wisconsin on a football scholarship, he played for the San Diego Chargers and the Cleveland Browns. Known for his strength, he bench-pressed 608lbs and was a defensive linebacker for the Stallions, leading them to win the State of California championship.
Outside of his career, Edward Martin dedicated his time to coaching football at various schools and cherished moments with his family. He was a tribal police officer for the Morongo Indian Reservation and a Federal Gaming Agent for the Agua Caliente Tribe in Palm Springs, California.
Coach Martin's passion for football extended beyond the field as he found joy in coaching and mentoring young athletes. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughters, shopping, weightlifting, and staying active at the gym.
A service to honor Edward Martin's life will be held on April 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at the cemetery on the Morongo Indian Reservation, Banning, California. He is survived by his wife Lela Terry Martin, daughters Elise Cheyenne Martin and Tahnee Leona Martin and sisters, Cecelia and Priscilla Martin. Big Eddie Martin is preceded in death by his father, Paul A Martin, mother, Shirley Knox Martin, and brothers, Paul R Martin and Craig Martin and niece Anastasia Martin.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Morongo Indian Reservation in Banning, California. Big Ed Martin will be remembered for his dedication to Jesus Christ, his family, his passion for football, and his unwavering strength both on and off the field.
Eddie gave his heart to Jesus in 2016 and dedicated the rest of his life to serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I remember working at morongo casino my friend at the time was Lela (if she remembers) she was in love with eddie ... i was the go between .. the rest is history .. rip big eddie .

The first time I met Eddie was the first night I started working at the Casino , graveyard shift . I walked into the Security Office and Ed was in the corner rubbing something in both hands . I asked what he was rubbing and he said " Bearclaws " . I asked , " you mean the donuts ? " . He just started laughing so loud that everyone was laughing . We have been friends ever since . I love you big guy ! See you on the other side !!!!!!
