Although I did not know Eddie personally, I know his son, Adam, very well. Adam is like a step-son to me and has always spoke very highly of his father. I was heart-broken to hear of his loss and the loss for all of your family. May God hold you all close in his arms during this difficult time. Cherish the wonderful memories Eddie leaves behind with each of you always.

I am so sorry to hear about the death of Edward. It is obvious by the many entries made on guest book that he touched the lives of so many people. He will be missed. May the family be comforted by the promise made at Revelation 21:3, 4.

Eddie was completely devoted to his family, he was an anchor and an angel to me and I'm grateful to have known him and called him my husband for six, happy years. How proud I was of him. He blessed my life and changed me forever. I will see you again sweet angel.

Has it really been that many years?...I just received word today, June 16 that the boy that lived behind me...the boy that I most wanted to pattern my own self after is gone...
Eddie and Tim and their beautiful mother Sara, were living in that wonderful neighborhood in the 60's when I moved in with my family. Eddie and Tim and cousin Doug Mercier were the rainbows that kept me going in a "not too great," family environment. Though Eddie and I were the same age, Eddie was much more mature, more introspective than I was. He only had to enter any room for a brief second and that million dollar smile would create happiness for those of us lucky enough to be nearby. The Panetta/Mercier family may not even remember me; but it is my wish to let them know that Eddie will never be forgotten. What a wonder place heaven will be! And as I am writing this, I know Eddie is once again building a tree house for all the guys in that West Jackson Mississippi neighborhood, to be shared when we meet again...hey Eddie: Let me bring the record player and the 45 RPM records!!!

These words ring so true, 'He was a kind, compassionate, happy man and an extraordinarily devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, friend and true gentleman.
