My grandfather, Well this man became a friend to me. I could always call him and ask him for advice. He was a Marine veteran that he did not talk about. A father to 5 3 boys and two girls My father was the oldest. He was a business owner simplex time clocks. I can still see him behind his desk with the blue tie with the red S on it. I have that tie, and I treasure it. He smoked his cigars, and his pipe, I have two or three of his lighters.
I can remember his smile His laugh " Terence me boy hows my grandson?"
I miss that everyday.
the week of his funeral my wife and i got news of our son, they never got to meet each other. My father has taken the place of the grampa for my son and they have what I hope is the same type of relationship i had with my grampa.
