I am sorry to hear of his passing.
He and his family will be in my prayers.
Was basically trying to reconnect.
He was certainly one of the nicest officers I knew at Ft. Hood.
Our paths crossed, because after basic training I was assign to the Division Logistics Center as a programmer, and for the first 3-4 months he was the officer in charge of the center.
May his soul rest in peace.

When the phone rang and Rusty would say "Tom, can you meet me at the ranch?" I knew it was going to be a good day at work. Whether we were discussing the wetlands, fishing, grassland management, the whitetail deer, hogs or whatever, it was always a good day because he loved that ranch and he always wanted to do exactly what was the best for the land and wildlife. He was a conservationist's dream landowner. He had a passion for the land and the wildlife. I will miss our visits.
I will keep the family in my prayers. May God give you peace.

One of Rusty's many legacies will forever be woven in the fabric of Greenhill School. His leadership while Chairman of Greenhill's Board of Trustees, Board member for over twenty-five years and as a Greenhill parent will be long appreciated and remembered, as will his devotion to his family. It was an honor knowing Rusty and working with him at Greenhill.

Deedie. Diane and I were greatly saddened by this news. It is a very small consolation that we got to meet the two of you and shake your hands again at the HBS Reunion after a long absence.

Deedie, will, and lela. I have a,ways loved math which is why I got to sit next to Rusty for every non profit outing that yo ur parents bought a table (we did buy ticket). While art auctions went on Rusty was giggling (much more of a heh, heh, heh) over his next diabolical questions trying to stump.me. He did, of course. What a great guy! So grateful to have been a friend. Sisan

Deedie, Will, and Lela, You are in my thoughts and prayers. When I moved to Dallas to teach, Rusty was chairman of the board. He took the entire faculty to the ranch for a picnic. What a wonderful welcome he hosted. It has been a joy knowing all of you over the past thirty plus years. He will be missed.
With love,

Rose Family,
My late father, Charlie Dyer, taught Rusty at Dallas Benjamin Franklin Junior High. I always knew Rusty Rose and family were so special to Dad. He always spoke of what a fine man Rusty was. Our family has a treasured picture of Rusty and Dad at Dad's retirement from Dallas ISD Athletic Department in 1989. We lost our father two years ago, and I know he and Rusty are in Heaven now sharing old times. I am so sorry about this great loss to your family and the community. We will always remember his kindness for our father.

Deedie, Will and Lela,
Words will never be able to explain what Rusty Rose has meant to me and always will. Being a coach with the Rangers enabled me and my family to know him as a true friend. He treated me as an equal and allowed me to really get to know him during many visits at ReyRosa. Being with him there and enjoying some magical times with him has been priceless. I can only tell you, "I Love Rusty Rose" and will miss him deeply.

Deedie, I am deeply saddened by Rusty's passing. Twenty one years ago I had the great honor of being named the "John William and Helen Stubbs Potter Professor of Mathematics" at TCU so graciously endowed by Rusty and you recognizing your parents. It was a true joy to meet and get to know both of you. May God comfort you and your family at this time.

Deedie,
I was so deeply saddened to read about Rusty's passing. I always thought I would again get to verbally spar with him about some issue or another. I loved his wry sense of humor and all the generous things he did for Dallas; but most of all, I loved how much he loved you.

I did not know Rusty but I knew of him and "largesse" was a well-chosen word. It is sorrowful that depression took this Renaissance man but I can't emphasize enough how wonderful it is that your family spoke the truth about depression. It is a disease that many struggle with and it needs to come out of the shadows. Thank you for choosing to help others though your honesty.

Deedie and Family-
Sincere condolences on Rusty's passing.
He was a quiet leader in all that he did,
dating back to days at The University of Texas
where we became friends.
Rusty did much for the cultural arts life of
Dallas, as well as helping lead the Texas
Rangers Baseball Team.
Simply stated, he was a leader and success
in all that he undertook and will be missed by
so many!
May the Good Lord Bless Rusty and the Family.
