Edward J. Rosenwinkel, born April 2, 1936 to Selma and Edward Rosenwinkel in Fairmont, MN. Ed passed away peacefully Sunday, March 23, 2025 under the care of Lakeview Hospice Program at the Good Samaritan Society in Stillwater, MN.

After completing a degree at the University of Minnesota, for several years Ed partnered with his father at Belle Plaine Sand and Gravel before segueing into a long career as a corporate bookkeeper and accountant.

Ed's many hobbies included hiking, fishing, gardening, playing cards (especially 500 and cribbage), bird watching, and spending time at his beloved lakeshore property on Anna Lake in Emily, MN. He also traveled extensively to places like Alaska, Mexico, Europe, and many U.S. state parks--as chronicled by his deft photography skills.

Ed practiced his lifelong interest in music by singing in Lutheran church choirs in Bloomington and New Hope, MN, where he lived the bulk of his adult life.

Uncle Edert, as his many nieces and nephews lovingly called him, was known for his "gift of gab." He had the uncanny ability of carrying on an endless conversation in a room full of family and friends, even after they had fallen asleep while listening to him (a particularly quirky and rather amazing trait everyone in the family loved joking about!).

Ed is survived by his brother James Rosenwinkel, and 18 nieces and nephews. Ed's endearing quirkiness will be greatly missed by all those family members and friends who loved him. Godspeed Uncle Edert!

A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Final arrangements by Simonet Funeral Home; 6429 Osgood Ave. North; P.O. Box 306; Stillwater, MN 55082.
