SCHONBACHLER EDWARD E.
Age 72, on March 30, 2009, of Hampton Twp., formerly of Shaler. Husband of Beverly A.; father of Diane (Chris) Miller, Debby (Mark) Petitta, Nancy (Steve) Plavetzky, Scott (Amy) Schonbachler, and Chris (Nikki) Schonbachler; grandfather of Nichole and Brittney Petitta, Ryan and Randy Pappa, Kristen, Kayli and Steven Plavetzky, and Erica, Cory, Courtney and Kyle Schonbachler; dear friend of Jeff Lambert; brother of Robert & Richard Schonbachler and Maryann Evancho. During his 30 year career with Mellon Bank, Ed participated with various groups including Etna-Shaler Area Jaycees, Fox Chapel Area Rotary, O'Hara RIDC Assoc., where he served as president for 3 years. Upon retirement, Ed joined the Mellon Bank MVP Group, and the North Hills Community Outreach, volunteering as a driver in their Free Rides for Seniors Program, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Meals on Wheels and Faith in Action Program until his health no longer permitted it. He was also a member of the American Legion for many years. Mr. Schonbachler was a Korean War Veteran, serving with the U.S. Airforce. Visitation Wed. & Thurs. 2-4 & 6-8 PM NEELY'S, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Service Friday 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to: Free Rides for Seniors, North Hills Community Outreach, c/o Lighthouse PTE, 500 Chapel Harbor Dr., Pgh., PA 15238.
