Ed Sherman, high school classmate, character, honored friend for the brief time we were in school together. He was the student to whom many of us turned for advice. Always given in good faith. Some stand out as one of the good guys. That was Ed Sherman. I am glad to have known him.

Ed was a star! We were honored to take part in the beautiful memorial service with the family he adored, overlooking the Maine water he loved. Our deepest sympathy.

Ed was my uncle. Although our paths separated in our later life he was always in my thoughts. When I was younger Ed regularly visited our family and we thought of him more as a big brother than a uncle.
I was always in awe of his accomplishments but more of his kindness and decency. I have great memories of him and was so proud to call him my uncle. He will be sourly missed by his family and those of us who were in orbit.

I was one of Ed's law students in 1979 when a tragedy befell a family member. Lost in the swirl of overwhelming events, I turned to Ed. Ed was of immeasurable help. This is but one small story of the character of humanity and spirit of Edward Sherman. His life reflected the scale of his decency; It matched his intellect, and was vast. We have lost one of the best. My heartfelt condolences.
