Edward Siudut, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 1, 2024.
Edward Francis Siudut, Jr., 48, died in his sleep on January 26, 2024. Born in Natick, Massachusetts on July 25, 1975, Eddie was the second of four children of the late Edward Francis Siudut, Sr. and Mary Ellen Moran Siudut.

Eddie grew up in Natick surrounded by his extended Moran family and excelled in both academics and athletics. He loved playing basketball year-round (even if it meant shoveling the Bacon Street court), sledding at Walnut Hill, swimming and fishing at the Moran cabin at Shagg Pond and riding the waves in the ocean. As a kid, he was also an avid reader and used his imagination acting out historical battles in the backyard on Beacon Street.

At Natick High School, he was a standout basketball and volleyball player and went on to play basketball at Bowdoin College. As a senior, he held the record for rebounds and was a high scorer, leading his team to the NCAA Division III Second Round before graduating in 1997.

He was a devoted son who stayed close and connected to his mother, a loving brother who showed up with a full heart to celebrate the best of times with his sisters and a fun-loving, kind-hearted uncle to his seven nieces and nephews.

He endured many traumas and setbacks related to mental illness and drug addiction and was able to live and work independently despite those obstacles. Many family members are grieving his loss including his mother, Mary Ellen Moran Siudut of Durham, NH, his sisters Heidi Bogle of Durham, NH, Dorothy Matthews of Kennebunk, ME and Tricia Allen of Lee, NH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 3:00 at The Community Church of Durham at 17 Main Street, Durham, NH www.ccdurham.org

RIP Eddie. I have countless memories of him and I spending countless hours in Natick with the family during the holidays and other times as well. We were also just pals by playing and watching basketball, playing ping pong, and just doing other life stuff. He will be missed by family and friends. He was a very intelligent person who was also a gifted athlete. See you on the other side cousin.

Hopscotch on the blacktop on Beacon Street and hours spent playing in the barn finding treasures. Harvesting peas from the garden Mom and Dad planted in the back of our house and riding bikes to Park Street well past sunset on summer nights.
