Ed was a genuine guy, he was such a nice guy, never heard him say a bad word about anyone, we met in high school, where I found out he was in the drum core, and when our drummer left he fit right in. A very kind, gentle soul, he will never be forgotten, as we are scrambling for vhs memories with him, will post if they are found.
I always worried about him being in the Islands all the time on fishing boats, always the toughest among my friends, we will all miss him dearly, Honored to know him, Rest Easy Ed.

To the Smigielski Family, Ed's Wife & Children and all of his Friends: The sun does not seem to shine as brightly after I heard of Eds (we always called him Eddie) passing. I have known Ed and his siblings since I was 5 years old and we all rode the bus together to school. Lonesome Pine Trail was a bustling street every morning as the bus pulled up to pick up Ed and his siblings, Mark, Mike and Martina Campbell, Keith Shea, Chris and Eric Dill, Dave and Paula Needham and the rest of the crew. I had the pleasure of Ed's involvement in my weekly poker game a couple of times a few summers ago, and it was fantastic to catch up and get reacquainted. He spoke lovingly of his family and entertained us with stories from his numerous ports of call and journeys on the ship. His quick wit and infectious love of life will stay with me forever and I will remember those encounters with great affection. I'm proud to call him my friend of over 40 years and I will miss him immensely. My most sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him. We will never see him again joking and telling stories until he had to stop to take a breath, but his memory will never be forgotten. I wish you all the best and I am so sorry for your loss. Gods Speed, Eddie.
