Edward Sohoza Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 21, 2024.
Edward Ernest Sohoza, born March 4th, 1956, passed away Sunday, March 17th, 2024. He was 68 years old. Proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest and Frances Sohoza, and siblings, Timothy, Carol, and Phillip. He is survived by his siblings, Teresa, Irene, Yvonne, Andy, and Matt, his children, Carmen, Edward, Jessica, Desmond, Devin, and Derek, his fiancé, Gail, his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends from all over who adored him.

Ed was a lover of all things but especially music. With the stage name Eddie Edwards, Ed was exceptional on the guitar, playing when he was young and continuing into his later years where he sang and performed for the elderly adults at the assisted living facilities he worked at. His other passion was cooking, with a background in culinary, he worked as a chef at many assisted livings and nursing homes. He finally opened his food truck, Soho Deli Delights, and was finally living out his culinary dream. Ed carried out many hobbies; riding his motorcycle, traveling, running, drinking, hot-tubing, gardening; to name a few, but his proudest achievement was being a father, as he was truly proud of all of his children. Ed's passions for life flourished and he truly captured the essence of whatever he was interested in.

As passionate as he was for his many loves in life, the best thing about Ed was his charismatic charm, humor, and friendship. Ed was the fun guy; he was ready to do anything and never said no to a good time. He brought the fun wherever he went and if he were around, you were sure to be laughing. The enjoyments of game nights, restaurant visits, traveling, holidays, and any adventure, was always amplified with entertainment and laughter if Ed were there.

Passing away far too soon for all of us, we know Ed took the most out of life and spent his time doing everything he loved. He didn't miss out on anything. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Ed's life in their own way; taking a riding on their motorcycle, playing the horsing racing game, listening to music, fixing their favorite dish, or raising a glass of their favorite IPA in his memory would be quite appropriate and appreciated. Ed will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Deepest sympathy to the entire Sohoza family. So sorry to hear of Edward's passing.
I was a childhood friend to Edward and Andrew when we were attending grade school, so many years ago. When they lived on Savage Rd, in Belleville. I haven't seen Ed in many decades, but I will always remember him.
Rest in peace Edward.

Not my first memory, but a wonderful one.
When Ed and I exchanged our wedding vows.
