Ed sincerely cared about his family and their lives - no matter how far away we were. He kept up with us all, stayed in touch, and was always kind. A real role model in putting family first and I will miss that. I will often think of 'Uncle' Ed with a smile.

Mr. Stivers is my sister's father in law. I usually saw Mister Stivers around the holidays. Mr. Stivers was a nice guy and fun to be around. He was always pleasant and had a keen sense about him as he was a very knowledgeable man. I and everyone will truly miss Mister Stiver.

I was blessed to have Uncle Ed and Aunt Bettie as my godparents. I had heard the blind date story more than once. They were so full of life and energy. I will never forget his booming voice. You always knew when he was in the house or on the phone.

Ed was always nice to everyone and made sure kids were taken care of at meals at conventions. Great cousin always looked forward to getting his emails. He will be missed.

He was always "Mr. Ed" to me as I grew up next door to the Stivers Family on Tavener Drive. He was a very good man, a great father and a wonderful neighbor. He and Bettie were inseparable and I'm sure there's a grand reunion happening now. Godspeed Mr. Ed and peace to your family and friends.

Ed Stivers was a friend and mentor for many years. He was a great supporter as we transitioned care of the KY Podiatric Medical Association to our firm. He will be missed.

Uncle Ed was one of a kind. I have fond memories of watching slide shows of his photography when we were young. He could always be counted on to document any family event. His daily blog was something I always enjoyed and I shared it with many. He was an inspiration to us all to stay engaged in life and current events. He will be missed by so many.

There is so much that one can say about Ed. I first met him when I was just a child. My entre into the Stivers dynasty was via Podiatric Medicine. Ed, as a member of the largest Podiatric family in the US (13 of them) was ever present at professional events my parents took us to. Ed eventually retired from practice and went into the insurance business. He became the executive director of the KPMA. those were good times... the best of times. I saw Ed several weeks ago as a patient at the VA hospital. His life and spirit have permeated my life. I rejoice that he and Betty are back together again... he missed her so. I wish them fair winds... and for those of us left behind... the world was a better place with him in it. Farewell my friend!!

I will miss Ed's always positive outlook on life - oh, and his emais, of course, which I often forwarded to my own family. My daughters all knew Ed through those emails, even though only one joined me on a visit to meet him in person. He was a charmer.
Ed Stivers - wonderful guy....
