I was very sad to hear of Ed's death. I went to UOP with Ed and spent a lot of time with him there. We studied together and hung out with the same students because our EE classes were with the same people who graduated in 1982.
In 1983, I visited Ed in Chicago and we had a great time going to a blues bar and listening to the music.
Ed was extremely bright. He was very quick witted and loved to banter with his friends. Getting through engineering school was a lot more fun because of Ed.
When Ed started his recruiting business in Silicon Valley, I referred 2 people to him that ended up working with him. Ed gave me tips on interviewing that I've never forgotten and have used to coached my own adult children as they interview for jobs or contracts.
I'll always remember Ed as one of the most ambitious people I know. He had a knack of taking the bull by the horns and finding ways of getting things done quickly. He definitely was not a procrastinator.
I have many stories about Ed that I'd be happy to share if his family wants to hear them.
Knowing Ed's big heart, I'm certain Ed was a very dedicated husband and father. I'll certainly miss him and I'm so sorry for his family's loss.

Last night I received an email from Josh of High Tech Ventures about Ed. I am so sad. So sad. I am incredibly grateful to have known Ed. The constant theme from Ed was his pure love, joy and pride for his wife and kids. There simply was nothing more important to Ed then his beautiful family. I loved his immense energy for everything he did. His trademark glasses and I loved his "let's get caught up" emails which he took time to send me. Ed made an incredible impact on the world. Love and prayers to all who miss Ed.

I met Eddie for the first time in 1964 in kindergarten when we both lived in Stockton, CA. He was called "Eddie" back then, or, when he insisted, "Edward William Takacs the Third if you please." We lived down the street from each other up we graduated from high school and went our separate ways. I have thought about him over the years from time to time, thinking that someday we'd reconnect and catch up. I am devastated to learn that that will never happen. My condolences and prayers to Eddie's family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. Eddie was really something special.

Dear Giuliana and family, I am sorry for your loss and deeply saddened by this news. Ed means so much to my father, his heart is weighing heavily. I grew up hearing countless stories about their adventures over the decades they knew each other, and have fond memories from my childhood spending time with Ed and the family. I appreciate the memories I have from these times, am thankful that my father had such a good friend throughout his life, and will miss Ed's presence dearly.

It was a privilege to know Ed, and to spend time with him. Ed had a way of making me feel so comfortable and free to just relax and hang out and "be myself." He was a true, genuine friend, and I will love and miss him forever.
