Ed and my father, Norman Yelton, were lifelong friends. They met during WWII, shared the same birthday and always kept in touch. I called Ed when my father passed away. He was very upset and sent the most beautiful flowers. I would like to thank his daughters for sending my mother the funeral program. It meant a lot to her. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family.

What a wonderful man and today was a beautiful memorial to celebrate his very full life with friends and family. What a stand up guy.

Ed Westlund contributed significantly to the development of the Aero Products of Litton Industries, where he worked for many years. He gave many free overtime hours on many projects because he believed that they were important, which they were. In many situations, no one could have done the job that Ed did. He traveled all over the world for Aero Products and did it quite willing even though, at times, it was a sacrifice to him. He was trusted and non-political. I know for I worked and traveled with him for over 30 years. He help make Litton Aero Products into a class-act commercial avionics company. The family should be proud. And, that's the truth.

Brother Ed will be deeply missed. Being the youngest sibling, Ed always showed a concern for my welfare. It was always a joy to have him visit us after he moved to CA. Ed made sure he took the time to call or stop in when he came to Michigan. Our last visit to CA was two years ago when we celebrated his birthday. We have always enjoyed Eddie's daughters, Kim, Janet and Dawn and will be keeping them in our prayers.

Uncle Ed will be very missed by all of your cousins here in Michigan. We loved his humor and we definitely enjoyed our lengthy conversations with him about the economy and politics. He was a very intelligent man. Our hearts go out to Kim, Janet and Dawn for the loss of a great man. Our prayers are with you.

I will miss Uncle Ed very much. Over my lifetime, he was always an encouragement and a significant role model. It was always a special treat when he would return to Michigan to visit. I usually had the special pleasure of picking him up at the airport. I was fortunate to get the opportunity to golf with Uncle Ed a few times. He made it look so easy! I always admired his skill with the club and likewise, enjoyed the stimulating conversations we had along the way from green to green. He was certainly a special person in my life!

Your dad will be greatly missed by so many. I will always remember my last visit with Ed in Sept 2009 where we shared good conversation and remembered old times. I am so grateful that I was able to see him one more time prior to his passing.

My heart goes out to my 3 cousins for their loss. I know how hard it is because I still hurt inside for my father. I will always be there for any of you cousins, just call or email me.

Ed was one of the "good guys" who will be missed. He was a true gentleman with a lot of class. He was part of the "Greatest Generation" who made this a great country.
