Edward Paul “Teddy” Woytowicz, Jr., 44, died peacefully on September 12, 2020 with his wife and close family by his side. Teddy was born in Springfield to the late Edward Paul and Marianne (MacFeat) Woytowicz. Along with his dear parents, Teddy was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Albert W. MacFeat, Jr. and his paternal grandparents Edward B. Woytowicz and Mary (Kaleel) Woytowicz. Teddy leaves behind his beloved wife of 20 years, Susan (Adams) Woytowicz and his adoring sons, Edward Paul (Tripp) 14, Quinn Thomas 11, and Maxx Bremen 7. Teddy met Susan at Cathedral High School, and they married soon after graduating college in September 2000 at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church in Springfield. Teddy began his married life working in the Boston area, and later moved back to the “413” to attend law school. After 12 wonderful years in East Longmeadow growing his family and career, Teddy settled in Longmeadow, providing a new home for his boys and their future. More than any accolades or awards, Teddy was most proud of his family. He was a loyal and steadfast son and brother, a devoted and doting husband and father, a generous and kind uncle and godfather, and a beloved grandson, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to so many who loved him. Ask anyone about Teddy, and they all will say: “he was the best.” Along with Susan, Tripp, Quinn, and Maxx, Teddy is survived by his brother Joseph Woytowicz and his wife Katie (McMahon) of Wilbraham, his sister Kathleen (Woytowicz) Brenner and her husband William of Wilbraham, his maternal grandmother Kathleen (O’Hare) Benoit of Stafford Springs, his father-in-law Thomas William Adams Jr. and mother-in-law Kathy (Burke) Adams of Monson, his sister-in law Katie (Adams) Mitus and her husband Shane of Belchertown, his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Adams) Connelly and her husband Jared of Wellesley, his sister-in-law Molly Adams and her husband Alex Mautone of Stamford, CT. Uncle to eight nephews -- Sean Nichols, Brett Brenner, Timothy Mitus, William Mitus, Joseph Woytowicz, Patrick Connelly, Charles Mautone, and Arthur Connelly -- and seven nieces -- Casey Brenner, Hannah Mitus, Mary Woytowicz, Elizabeth Woytowicz, Sophia Mitus, Caroline Connelly, and Brenna Woytowicz -- Teddy’s memory will be forever honored and cherished. Raised in Springfield with his younger brother Joseph and sister Kathleen, Teddy graduated from Cathedral High School where he was captain of the baseball team. He went on to graduate from Suffield Academy and Springfield College, where he continued to play as a pitcher on the baseball team. Following his graduation from Springfield College, Teddy continued his education at Western New England School of Law School where he earned his Juris Doctorate. After law school, Teddy continued to build a successful management career in IT services. He was Vice President of the Northeast Region at FastSwitch at the time of his death. Hardworking and passionate about everything he did, parenting and mentoring his three boys were no exception. Teddy’s favorite things in life were coaching his sons in youth baseball and watching them play ice hockey. A lifelong fan of baseball, Teddy developed an interest in ice hockey from cheering on his sister-in-laws’ as they played in college, and his passion expanded as all three of his sons became more invested in the sport. Teddy connected with so many parents, coaches and players across both sports, and he leaves behind a legacy of integrity. Over the years, Teddy formed incredible friendships. His dependability, confidence and calm demeanor earned him the honor of officiating five weddings for family and friends. Throughout his life and leading up to his death, his friends and family provided much appreciated comfort, support and strength. Bernice Innarelli, Teddy’s paternal aunt, showed tremendous love and care for Teddy, and her presence in his life was a blessing. Teddy enjoyed playing golf and tennis at Longmeadow Country Club with his boys, sitting by the fire drinking IPAs, annually building a backyard rink for his kids, and visiting Nantucket with Susan. Through his actions and words, Teddy demonstrated the true meaning of hard work, optimism, and loyalty. Teddy loved his life and wanted nothing more. Calling hours for Teddy will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Monday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow. Interment will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery. All Covid-19 restrictions will be in place and may limit attendance at the Calling Hours, Mass and Cemetery. For those who would like to make a contribution, family members have started an educational fund for Teddy’s sons Tripp, Quinn, and Maxx. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to: ‘The Edward P. Woytowicz, Jr. Memorial Fund FBO His Children’ at Monson Savings Bank located at 61 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028. It is an understatement to say that Teddy had a positive impact on many lives. To honor him, please bring a baseball signed (with permanent ink) with a memory of Teddy, a message to Teddy, or a message to the boys during the calling hours. Please keep this to one baseball per family or per person.

To Susan and his boys, please accept my deepest condolences. I am devastated to hear of Teddy's passing. I worked with him at TEKsystems in Tower Square many years ago when you were just starting to have children. He loved you all deeply. Teddy was a great man. I enjoyed our many conversations about raising a young family at the same time. I'm so sorry that your time got cut short. He was way too young! I will pray for you all!

I had the pleasure of working with Teddy or Teddy Ballgame as we used to call him for a short period of time but it was certainly impactful, we shared a love for Boston sports and Western mass roots. He was a great guy and I am very saddened by his loss. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

So sad to hear of Teddy’s passing. He was one of my All time favorite players who exemplified tenacity, teamwork, and class. He came to see me last summer to let me know what was going on and we had a nice chat and visit at Tabor. If there is anything that I can do please ask. I am certain that God needed a bulldog on the mound and he got the best in Teddy.

I was very shocked andsaddened to learn of Teddy’s passing, he was such an exceptional person in many ways. I coached him on a St. Catherine basketball team and helped his father who coached the baseball team. He was fantastic point guard on our team and an outstanding pitcher. He was a very talented athlete but the thing I remember the most was his leadership. I haven’t seen him in some time but I was not surprised to hear that he was Vice President of the company he worked for, I would have predicted that he would achieve that level of employment. Our sincere condolences to the Woytowicz family who yet again have another tragic loss.

Teddy always struck me as a great leader and had to endure a lot of loss in his younger years. He showed us all how to work through that adversity while also maintaining that amazing human side that everyone loved. I wish we stayed more in touch over the years my friend. However, your legacy will stay with me and I believe all of us for many generations to come. Thank you Teddy, you left nothing on the field, rest well in peace.

The Tully family and myself send their sincerest condolences to the Woytowicz family.

All of us cousins had a fantastic time when he came up to Wisconsin to celebrate our Aunt Bernice & Uncle George's 60th anniversary 15 years ago. We tipped a few that night. I remember his great energy. Teddy's dad & I are first cousins.

To the Woytowicz Family ~

I was a teacher at the 16 acres/ Mary Walsh school in Springfield. Teddy was one of my students "patrollers". Very responsible and confident in his duties as a fifth grader. He was always very helpful with the younger students while performing his hall or bus duty. His brother Joe and sister Kathy eventually were on the patrol, as they moved up in grade. Teddy enjoyed and excelled at field day activities and again was cooperative in helping set up the activities.

The Woytowicz families, Teddy's dad, mom, brother and sister, uncle, aunt and cousins we're always supportive of the school's personnel and endeavors....

Teddy accomplished much in a shortened life and his parents would be very proud of him..... I remember him fondly.

With Understanding Sympathy ~

I pitched against Teddy many times in youth baseball when he played for St. Catherine’s. Always admired his pitching ability especially his fastball (heat) and exceptional curveball.
