Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2016.
Edwin W. "Ed" Erickson, 59, of Spring Valley, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at The Seasons Hospice House in Rochester.

Edwin Wayne Erickson was born May 27, 1957, in Rochester, to Edwin and Laura (Higgins) Erickson. He attended school in Chatfield and Spring Valley through the eighth grade and was united in marriage to Paula Fister on June 16, 1978, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester and together had five children: Hesper, James, Chad, Matt and Michael. They were later divorced, but continued to be friends over the years.

Ed ran Empire Gas in Zumbro Falls for several years before attending truck-driving school in Wisconsin. After his schooling, he was an over-the-road trucker for many years. He later drove school bus and eventually drove charter bus for Strain Bus Tours. He also drove for SEMCAC. Other than driving, Ed enjoyed fishing, a good western, casino trips, fixing cars, spending time with his friends and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Hesper (Matt Steffen) Erickson of Dover, James (Alicia Schuette) Erickson of Jacksonville, Fla., Chad (Katie Stafford) Erickson of Rochester, Matt (Miranda Garness) Erickson of Brownsdale and Michael (Beth Andring) Erickson of Pine Island; five grandchildren; and siblings, Dean Raveille, Patricia Erickson, Sherri Erickson, Phillip Erickson and Charles Erickson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Redeemer Lutheran Church
in Rochester, with the Rev. Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be one before the service at the church.
