Edwin Lester French

Abilene - Edwin Lester French (68) passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, in Abilene, Texas. Edwin, a self-described "good ol' country boy," was known for his kind heart and loving nature. He cherished his relationship with the Lord and leaned heavily on his faith to guide him through each challenge he faced.

Edwin was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughters Laura Walton and her husband Christopher, Sierra Campbell and her husband Cameron; his brothers Clinton French and wife Jean, Glyn French and wife Cindy; and his cherished grandchildren Zoie, Caitlyn, and Fox Walton, and Charlotte and Jacob Campbell. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Forrest and Helen French, grandson Sawyer Walton, and niece Melissa "Missy" Midwell.

Throughout his life, Edwin found enjoyment in the simple things. One of his greatest joys was sipping on Dr. Pepper and visiting with his friends and family. He loved talking skip on his CB radios under his handle "Roadrunner", listening to music, and watching Western movies and TV shows. He had a passion for working with his hands and possessed a wealth of knowledge acquired through a lifetime of experiences. He took great pride in his Southern upbringing and enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood with his family. Edwin had a big heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, located at 3342 State Street, Abilene, Texas.
