It is with great sadness that the wife of Edwin (Sub) Kennedy announce his passing to be with his Lord and Savior "Jesus Christ" on March 2, 2012 at the age of 67 years.
All services will be held on the Pasqua First Nation in the Chief Ben Pasqua Band Hall commencing with a wake on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Edmund Jordan officiating. A funeral service will be held in the hall on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with his good friend Rev. Wayne Goforth officiating. Interment in Asham Beach Cemetery, Pasqua First Nation to follow.
Edwin was predeceased by his father Alfred Goodvoice, a brother Gordon Kennedy and two granddaughters Michealyn and Kiona. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty two years Rev. Darlene Kennedy, his children Justin Kennedy and Calista Kennedy his stepchildren Bonnie (Jason) Courtney, Harold (Misty) Courtney and Jolene (Jesse) Courtney; fifteen grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; a special nephew Cliffton Isanna, special nieces Lila (Ronnie) Thomson, Keitha Kennedy, Errin and Charity Kennedy, as well as several family members from the Carry the Kettle First Nation. At the request of some Kennedy family members they asked not to be mentioned in this obituary.
Edwin will always be remembered for his strong belief in the Lord Jesus whom he served till the end and his love for his wife and the family that they raised together. Throughout their many years together they lived in many different cities like Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Vancouver, B.C. and Regina, Saskatchewan until in 1996 when they moved back to Carry the Kettle First Nation. Edwin Kennedy had a great love for horses, chuck wagons and chariot and rubber tire racing which he did for the past twelve years.
