Hello sweet, dear Humbert family,
This comes late, but no less sincere. I loved all of your family, and have been saddened by reading that you have lost not only Dee Dee, but Jack, and Stephen. What a wonderful heavenly reunion there must have been when she went to be with the Lord.
It is not a surprise that so many of you have gone into the ministry. You were all excellent bible scholars, as youngsters.
You may remember me as the Lois half of the Clark Kent team back in Park Forrest, Illinois (Baptist Temple.) Real name: Sharon Curtis. My husband was John. He passed away Feb 4th, 2016. He suffered from Altzheimer's Disease, and was very ill for years.
I have such fond memories of Dee Dee. She was so down to earth, and faced life
with grace, love, and humor. She would laugh and tell me that some of her happiest times were when she was making a pound of hamburger stretch as far as she could, and she often painted humor into her stories...like the time she said
they were moving from one city to another, and drying diapers, flapping in the
wind out the window of the car. Even though she was the boss's wife she always made me feel like a sister in Christ.
It is because God used your family in a mighty way, that I know I will see my husband again. As a young bride, living in the foot hills of the Alleghany Mountains, my neighbor introduced me to Christ and I committed my life to Him at that time. John, still a practicing Catholic, wanted nothing to do with the bible, or my study group. He went so far as to throw my bible out of the window into
the snow. He demanded that no one pray for him during the study group, but of course we continued in prayer. I thought he was never going to give Jesus a chance. All along God was working in the background..John became dissatisfied with his job and sent out his resume all over the country. Jack Hummbert hired
my husband. When we moved, I was looking for a church, and was
dumbfounded when I learned that the pastor of the church I loved, was also
named Humbert. The rest is history, but praise be to God, John eventually came to Jesus, listening to God's word and Pastor Don's preaching. I know this is a miracle that you experience often, but wanted you to know how esteemed your family is held. God bless all of you until we are all a part of the ultimate reunion in heaven.
