Edwy P. "Ed" Crabtree

Hey John, I'm sitting here writing this on the day we are about to bury my dad. Lisa just told me about this guest book. We were looking in this book for my dad, so I thought I would write a little something. I know how you and your family are feeling. It's hard to loose someone so close to you. We can only remember all the good memories. I remember when you took off to Montana, just as you were driving off your dad yelled out be careful John, and don't forget, don't pick up any hitchhikers. You just looked at him and laughed and said Dad I'm 40. Your dad was a very caring man. So my deepest thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom, your brother, and sister. I was saddened to hear, belatedly, of your loss. I remember how kind he always was to me (and to all of the neighborhood kids)when we lived next door all those years ago. God surely smiled on your family when he gave you such a wonderful man for a Dad & Husband. May you find peace in your memories of the life and love you shared together with him.

Mrs. Crabtree, Paula, Eddie and John - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have very fond memories of Mr. Crabtree, especially of sitting in your living room and watching the Boston Bruins on TV! I pray that God's peace will flood your hearts and minds at this time in your lives.

I want to offer my sincere sympathy to you. I have known Mr. Crabtree quite a few years, seeing each other at Kylie's birthday parties and holiday dinners at Dawn and Ed's. You have your memories, both good and bad but as time goes on, you will only remember the good ones and you will cherish them always. Something you will see or hear will remind you of him and that will put a smile on your face and you will know he is watching over you. They say time heals all wounds but it's not a bad thing to keep your memories alive forever. We have to each day keep his memory alive not only for you but for your grandchildren. Tell them all the great things he did and how much he loved them.

I was sorry to hear that Ed had died and wish to express my sincere sympathy to you and your family. Hearing the news certainly brought back memories of our growing up days in Chepachet. My condolences to Ed's family, as a past co-worker and friend, I have many memories of Ed and enjoyed listening to his golf stories. He will be sadly missed.
