I am just now learning of the passing of Eileen. What a beautiful Irish Soul she was. I had the opportunity of being the President of LAOH Div. 25 when she joined our Division and initiating her into our Organization. I made sure I looked for her every year in the line-up of the St. Patrick's Day Parade, just to say Hello and give her a big hug & kiss. I am grateful that I got to see her in her last parade last year. I know the gates of Heaven were wide open waiting for your arrival. Godspeed Eileen. XO XO XO

To all who loved Eileen Lavin, family and friends, I first met Eileen back in the 80s. She was teaching Irish Dancing at North Catholic. She was always so patient and fun and I continued to see her through the years as I learned and laughed with the Tara Gael dancers. Unfortunately, my health issues got in the way of me staying with the dancers. Eileen was always so patient and always great with a big smile. She was always so kind. I will never forget her coming to my husband`s funeral. When she came down the aisle, I said, "Eileen, what about the shop? " With her quick wit she quickly replied, " I know the owner." That was always her way to make you smile. Rest in peace, Eileen. I will forever be grateful that I knew you and for the love of Irish Dancing and culture that you continually lived, loved and passed on to thousands.

Remember the night Eileen turned 21 and she asked Charlie Long for a drink and Charlie told her "You have to wait till mid night because your not 21 yet". So many great memories of her and Al . We´ll miss you.

I remember that Al and Eileen Lavin were the first winners of the St Patrick´s Day Observance Association´s Trip To Ireland Drawing. That´s when I first got to know them. They were a beautiful couple and friendly to all especially with Eileen´s infectious effervescence. As someone said, Eileen really did light up every room she entered. I think that is because she loved people. She wanted them to be a part of the fun she created. And she started a fabulous Irish Dance troupe the Tara Gael Dancers to share the fun and love she had for others. I will miss Eileen, as I miss Al, at Parade events. May she Rest in the Peace of Our Lord in Heaven forever.

Eileen was a very generous, loving woman who was always ready to help anyone in anyway. My first memory of Eileen was many years ago when I saw her Tara Gael Dancers, and she was leading them in the dance. Apart from the beautiful routine of dance, everyone was so happy and just enjoying every minute. Eileen looked for no recognition, only to make others as happy as she was. Through our beautiful Mayo Association, our friendship grew, and I was always happy to be in her presence. It was such a beautiful day that the Lord took her home, the feast of the Guardian Angels. I am sure they danced with her into the heavenly gates, where she met her dear Al, and I am sure they danced to that familiar song, " I'm dancing with an angel tonight". Keep dancing Eileen, and we shall do the same, remembering you always. Sister James Anne Feerick

You were my best friend in the world. I have no idea how I'm going to manage without you but I couldn't be more grateful for the years and love you gave me. You truly treated me like I was your own and the things you did and the times you were there for me I always felt like I could never repay you. I miss you so much. I love you so much. I needed you so much. I'm so sorry Aunt Eileen. You're still my world I'll dance for you.
