Eileen M. Rodammer
Eileen walked to the open arms of her Savior on Friday, February 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with ALS, at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth; age 83 years. Eileen Laux was born on August 8, 1939 in Frankenmuth, MI to the late Harold and Meta (Knoll) Laux. She was married to Milton Rodammer at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Frankenmuth, on May 28, 1960. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2020. Eileen began her career at Frankenmuth State Bank and remained through all the name and ownership changes, retiring in 2002 from the Birch Run office of National City Bank. Following her retirement, she volunteered at Wellspring Lutheran Services. She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and was active in Mary Martha Guild, sang in the choir and served as Assistant Treasurer. She had also been active in civic and professional organizations throughout her career. Anyone could observe from Eileen’s smile and laughter that she had an enthusiasm for life. She loved to talk with family and friends and always had an optimistic outlook. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. One of her most beautiful expressions of love and faith was patiently instructing and preparing her grandson, Collin, for his Christian Confirmation.
Surviving Eileen are her daughter Jackie (Brad) Ferguson of Birch Run, son Kurt (Kathy) Rodammer of Vassar MI; two grandsons, Collin and Grant Rodammer; siblings Kathy (John) Wilson, Marilyn (Lloyd) Hecht, Louie (Loretta) Laux, Mike (Connie) Laux; sister-in-law, Irene Rodammer; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 3455 S. Van Buren Road, Richville, Michigan. Rev. Wesley Gillaspie will officiate with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Eileen’s family will receive visitors at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Even though we moved two years ago, I still miss sitting by Eileen in choir. She was always so much fun to talk with.

Eileen always wanted the best for those who worked for and with her. She was eager to pass on her banking knowledge. I was privileged to work with Eileen and considered her a dear friend as well as a colleague. Her sense of humor and her contagious laughter was endearing and she was a joy to know. Her Faith and love of family was very apparent. Prayers for Eileen’s family and friends.
