To Elizabeth and family:
In 1959-1961 I was a new High School grad recruit at Bank of Montreal, Red Deer. Einar was the Accountant or assistant Accountant of the branch for part of my time in Red Deer. I was so full of questions,...continuously, which Einar always took the time to answer, and as a result he became my mentor for the next year or so. I always went to him with any problems. One of us was transferred first, and although our paths never passed again - I do remember very well his patience, his calm and steady demeanor, and how he encouraged me in the development of my banking career.
I never forgot the kindness shown to me by Einar. He truly was one of the "good guys" that I encountered in my business career.

To the Myrholm family... My fondest memories of Einar were back in the Donahoo days when he and Gunnar would wait at the corner for Kenny and I and we would follow their moccasin tracks in the snow all the way to the school. Through all the years his heart was filled with kindness and he will be forever missed.

In December 1995, I a gentleman I had known from a close friend invited me at McKenan Baptist Church for a Christmas dinner hosted by the International Student Ministries for international students at the University of Alberta. When I was leaving the hall to return to the university, Einar and his wife Elizabeth spotted me walking to a nearby bus stop and asked to give me a ride. Realizing that they were old enough to be my parents I accepted the ride. Days later, they followed up with a phone call and an invitation to their home for dinner. Since then, we became good family friends. Over the years our families have shared holiday and summer meals and Christmas cards; both Einar and Elizabeth have attended our children’s baptisms. Einar was a very kind and simple man with a broad knowledge of the world. Over the years Einar and I discussed world politics, religion and science with a sense of humour. Even in his declining health, I did not see any sense of personal surrender in his words or dids. My family and I will miss him a lot, especially at this time of Christmas when we would normally pay his family a surprise visit with a poinsettia. May the almighty God rest him in peace!

I worked with Einar in the 80's at North West Trust in the Mortgage Department. I remember him as a very kind and gentle man. Although I haven't seen him in several years, he has crossed my mind many times. At this very sad time for your family, please accept my deepest condolences. Barbara Burns, Edmonton
