My family called her Andy. She was an Army buddy of my mother's. After the Army, she lived with Mama and me in Charlotte from the time I was a year old until I was three, when my father returned from overseas. Other than my parents, no body taught me more about being in the world than Elaine did.

I met Elaine in 1993 when we were both patients in the medical rehab hospital here in Charlotte. I also found out we were neighbors. I found Elaine to be a wonderful caring person with a smile to brighten your day. We were sad when Elaine moved out of the neighborhood.
Our preyers go to Elaine and the loved ones she left behind.
God Bless.
