It was the 1970's, at Bethlehem Temple Apostolic church, when my family and I first met Elaine and her sister Pam.
It was there that I believe Elaine had received the baptism of the HOLY GHOST, speaking in fluent tongues as the Spirit of God gave her the utterance to speak.
In those days, Elaine and Pam would often come over to our house after Service, enjoy dinner with us, and fellowship.
On Sunday's my Mother would often cook a roast beef dinner with rice or mash potatoes with gravy; there was always dessert, and always plenty of food!
Elaine was very fond of my brother Kevin, and their friendship had lasted for years. The last time I saw Elaine, she was in some relationship distress and called Kevin. He picked her up, and she spent the night at our house, the same house on Buffalo Road. She had slept in my bedroom, respectively. I believe the year was 1990, or in the late 1980's.
We were all gathered to our home-state of Erie, Pennsylvania, in May; our Mother had passed that same year, 2018.
I remember Elaine as a strong person.
For whatever reason I had never known Elaine's age. I had always considered her to be older in years, and am surprised to learn that we shared the same birth year; Elaine was only eight months older than me!
One thing I do know about Elaine, is that she LOVED her sisters, AFFECTIONATELY!
I also know that Elaine had once made her "CALLING AND ELECTION SURE" into the KINGDOM of GOD, by having once giving her heart to the LORD Jesus Christ, the Saviour, as a youth.
If she had strayed--because of life's challenges, I trust through God's GRACE she was able to regained and replaced her ETERNAL faith and confidence in the LORD, even as the scripture states,
"...when we are old, we will NOT depart."
A word of Encouragement:
The LORD knew Elaine's heart, and sometimes we don't always accept or understand, but the LORD knows how to "SAVE" us.
My sincere condolences to the Atkinson Family, and on behalf of my siblings, the PAUL Family:
Jeffrey, Kenneth, Kevin, Katrina, Keslyn (deceased), and Keelia.
Elaine: FOREVER our Sister in Christ Jesus the LORD; FOREVER our FRIEND!
