Elaine Fangon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2024.
Elaine M. Fangon, longtime resident of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2024, at the age of 69.

A native of Southern California, Elaine personified the sunshine and warmth of her home state. Elaine married the love of her life, Tom Fangon, and together they raised two children and celebrated 52 years of marriage together.

Elaine's love of travel likely began as a child when her family would take road trips to visit national parks or see family. When she had her own family, they too took to the road, with memorable drives to Chicago and up-and-down the West coast. As empty nesters, Elaine and Tom were able to continue their travels together in the form of long-haul trips with Elaine on the back of Tom's Harley, cozy trips in their camper, to far-flung trips to Hawaii or cruises. She enjoyed the journey.

Elaine took true joy in her family and friends, loving them without judgement and always seeking an opportunity to help. Her presence was central to gatherings, not only because she was an excellent cook and baker, but also because she was a friendly and happy presence. She cherished and doted on all the children in her life, most recently her grandchildren, who will always remember her love for them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; sons Joe (Gia) and Tommy (Sonia); grandchildren Lucas, Jessica, Dillan, Adeline, and Zane; sister, Sharon Early (Vince); brother, Kenny Reid (Donna); sisters-in-law, Sabina Fangon and Carmen Reitenbach; brother-in-law, Butch Fangon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she deeply loved.

Elaine possessed an inherent kindness and gentleness, which will be greatly missed by her family and friends

A celebration of life will be held at her home on August 4, 2024.

My first memory of Elaine. We were on a poker run, at the first stop she got off of Tom's Harley and every biker in the bar turned to look at her. She was so beautiful. A big biker asked if he could buy her a drink and Tom answered sure if you buy me one as well. Tom always looked out for her. Elaine was as sweet as could be. She just loved life. I will miss you my dear friend Love Sue and Jesse.
