I was really saddened when I learned of the death of my dear friend, Elaine. She was the nicest, giving person with whom I've ever worked. Elaine and I worked together at Wendell Phillips, School #63, 2006-2008. She was kind enough to share her office with me when I didn't have one of my own. Elaine was so very caring and creative. She really enjoyed her position as the school librarian, aka, Miss O. She touched the lives of so many, both young and old, during her career in IPS. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. RIH, Miss O. Til we meet again.

I worked with Elaine as part of the Fabulous Five Digital Coaches for Indianapolis Public Schools. It was the job from Heaven and she/we were AWESOME! The news of her transitioning to the afterlife saddened my heart. I will miss her. To the family, my sincerest condolences. RIH Elaine...

I am so sorry to hear about Elaine. She was the coolest woman in our water aerobics class! "The slower you jog, the easier the workout" is what she'd say! But it was only a joke because she'd be giving her all. We will miss your smiling face and hilarious personality!!! - Jesslyn Wallace

"Ms. O" was wonderful to my children and to me as members of the IPS community. We are grateful for her kindness and teaching.

Elaine was the best neighbor ever. Funny gal and a sweetheart, I was always so impressed with the great care she gave her dad. Went every night to feed him dinner. I will miss you lady.

I went to high school with Elaine and she was part of the "girl group" I ran around with. We lost touch in college and only in the last 3 years ran back into each other at water aerobics class. I am so thankful that I was able to get to know her again. She was dedicated to her career. She took wonderful care of her parents and was an example to me as I started that journey. I am blessed to have been able to spend time with her.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Elaine Oglesby. I have known her since my high school days, her father was the principal at Amo High School. Her family also attended the Amo Methodist Church where my family went. My maiden name is Layman.
