Elaine I. (Chabot) Pare', 86, died Satur­day, December 28, 2013 at Mer­rimack Valley Hospice House, following a long illness and surrounded by her loving family. Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Clarence and Irene (Cote) Chabot, she at­tended Saint Joseph Grammar School and graduated from Hav­erhill High School in 1945 as the Class Secretary. Mrs. Pare' was an accom­plished dancer and student of the late Doris Caffrey. She performed in Tap, Jazz and Modern Dance routines in lo­cal theatres and also helped to entertain the troops at the local USO during the years of and following WWII. Mrs. Pare' first worked at the former Mitchell's Department Store in downtown Haverhill and later was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. She also worked for sev­eral years as a secretary and administrative assistant to the late Haverhill Optometrist, Dr. Bernard Potvin. At the time of her retirement, Mrs. Pare' was employed as a processor at City Insurance Co. of Hav­erhill. Amember of All Saints Par­ish of Haverhill and the for­mer Saint Joseph Parish, Mrs. Pare' was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and also enjoyed being a summertime resident of Salisbury Beach and a win­tertime resident of Deerfield Beach Florida for many years. She was a devoted wife, moth­er and grandmother and also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and was a charter member of "The Holy Moley Club". Predeceased by her hus­band John L. Pare' in 2007, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Michael Pike of Hav­erhill, four sons, Jack L. Pare' and his wife Laurie of Bethlehem, NH, Denis L. Pare' of Haverhill, David S. Pare' and his wife Debra of Salisbury, and Scott S. Pare' and Wendy Burns of Haverhill, four grandchil­dren, Pamela J. Beidler and her husband Carter of Bolton, VT, Miranda L. Pare' and her fiancé Sean Walker of Burl­ington, NC, Matthew S. Pare' of Memphis, TN, and T.J. Pare' of Tampa,Florida, also Liam Burns of Haverhill, an aunt, Jeannette Coulle and an uncle Ovila Cote, both of Haverhill, several nieces, nephews and cousins and her "B & G Boys". She was predeceased by two brothers Normand and Don­ald Chabot. The family wishes to thank special caregiver Debbie Poole, for the years of outstanding care and comfort provided by her to Mrs. Pare'. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Monday, De­cember 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m at Berube-Comeau Fu­neral Home, 47 Broadway (Route 97) Haverhill. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Av­enue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mer­rimack Valley Hospice House, 360 NorthAvenue, Haverhill. I remember her dancing at recitals.
I was dancing with my older brother in the recitals. My brother was Master of ceremonies for a few recitals. I remember your mom couple dancing not sure with who. Wow wish I could have seen her before she left. Beautiful talent I'm so sorry for your loss.
She had a long life here. God bless her.
