I was a student of Elaine's and graduated from UCFV in 2003. Elaine was a gifted leader and taught me so much through her actions and professionalism. Elaine was the most challenging instructor whose lectures were always high energy and concise. She had a fine balance of pushing you and supporting you simultaneously and I fondly reminisce with my classmates at the many 'firsts' we did as student nurses under her watchful eye. I am greatful I had the opportunity to learn from her, she will be deeply missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Elaine has passed away. I had the privilege of knowing Elaine as one of the Children's Hospital nurses who helped to look after Paul over the years. Elaine was a tireless advocate for Paul. I was always impressed by her clearheadedness in separating out what was most important in his care and of course his life. As the most important member of Paul's 'team'...that is, as his mother, she was also a true collaborator always interested in other's thoughts and opinions. Paul is such a credit to her careful and loving parenting. I learned a lot from Elaine. I will always remember her fondly and be grateful that she touched my life and my nursing practice.

I graduated with Elaine from RCH. I'll remember her as an excellent nurse, one of the best in our class who was classy, energetic and enthusiastic, had a positive attitude and a big heart. You could always count on her to offer help... with a big smile. She lived large, knew what was important and was a mentor for us all. I'm so glad she touched my life.

I graduated with Elaine from the RCH School of Nursing in 1974. Elaine was a stellar student and a good friend to so many of us. I remember her as an active member of Nurses Christian Fellowship and someone with a ready smile and an open heart. Her obituary chronicles a full life that touched many. She left this earth too soon.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Elaine for only a very short time as a team member with the Abbotsford Synchro Skating team. She was a dedicated skater and always had a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed as a skater, mother, wife and person. Her life was taken from her too soon but she lived every day to the fullest.
