ELDEN CAHOON Elden H. "Ellie" Cahoon, 76, long-time Las Vegas resident, died in his sleep at home June 19, 2008, from complications from Alzheimer's. He is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Johanna (Alldredge) Cahoon, who provided loving care at home during his illness this past year. He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Oasis, Utah, to Evva and Cecil Cahoon. He was a graduate of Hinckley High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Elden moved to Las Vegas in 1962 and worked in construction here for 45 years. He was a founding partner in Mesa Construction. For many years he was co-owner of CC Construction having only recently retired. He was an avid hunter and particularly enjoyed goose hunting with his grandsons and his business partner, Dick Clark. He is also survived by his four daughters, Ranae Kanet (Edward), Rebecca Hollingsworth (Daniel) and Sheri Cahoon, all of Las Vegas, and Connie Seawell (Dwight) of Dallas, Ga. He was a loving grandfather of 13: Shannah Inman, Michael Kanet (Marian), Teah Olson (Kevin), Elizabeth Jones (Jeremiah), Ridge and Sarah Kanet, Aaron Seawell (Anna), Megan, Johanna, Emily, and Nathan Seawell, and Katie and Jake Hollingsworth. He was the great-grandfather of five and a half, Madelyn and Naomi Inman, Ellie Kanet, Dylan and Drew Olson, and J.D. Jones. He is also survived by one sister, Ula Day. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; and his son, Phillip. Visitation and viewing will be 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, June 27, at La Paloma Funeral Home, 5450 Stephanie. Services and burial will be held in Oasis, Utah.
