Eleanor BARR

BARR, Eleanor Marie After a tough, two year struggle, Eleanor passed peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Mel Barr, she was also predeceased by her loving son Shane Barr in 2015 (nee Maloney). She is survived by her dear sister Millie Kennedy and sister-in-law Ruth Harding. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and their families as well as the Barr and Maloney families. Eleanor will now be reunited with her predeceased sister and brothers; Lillian Petrocco, Len and Ron Harding. Eleanor had a great love of people, life and laughter and had a generous spirit. She lived most of her life in Ottawa and also had homes in Orlando, Florida and Barbados. She especially enjoyed her time working on Parliament Hill. She had the opportunity to travel the world, often bringing family members along with her. A strong and independent woman, she was always accompanied by her faithful dogs - especially fluffy white ones. A Memorial Service will be held at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception.
