Eleanor Theresa Devlin

NORTH EASTHAM - Eleanor Theresa (Gould) Devlin, 91 years old, of North Eastham, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2007.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Alice (Readon) Gould and Walter B. Gould. She was in the first graduating class of Sacred Heart High School in Cambridge.

Eleanor married Arnold C. Devlin, of Newton Centre, in Laredo, Texas, after World War II, who preceded her death in 1995. They lived in Wellesley Hills, where they raised their three children. They were married for 50 years.

Eleanor worked for Travelers Insurance, Lahey Clinic and Honeywell Corp. After retiring, she spent her time living in North Eastham and New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

An avid reader, she also loved crossword puzzles and card games.

She is survived by her three children, Arnold C. Devlin of Sudbury, Ontario; Catherine Grich of Eastham; and Michael Devlin of Greenfield. She also leaves four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish at Visitation Church, Massasoit Road, Eastham, on Friday, July 13, followed by her burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 1:30 p.m.

Her visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans.
