Eleanor Flanders Obituary
Eleanor Ann (Richards) Flanders, 94 and 3/4 years old (in her own words), of Milford NH passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.
She was born in Springfield NH, daughter of Dorothy Witham and Howard Richards, the 4th of their 4 children, including Howard, Barbara, and Betty. At age 19 she married Frank Roger Flanders of Merrimack and they were together for 68 years at the time of his passing in 2014.
Eleanor enjoyed many things: working as a home health aide, gardening, caring for farm animals, cooking, baking, stacking firewood, sewing, knitting, singing, reading books-including her bible, taking care of her family, and anonymously “helping others” with just about anything as best she could.
Eleanor will be missed by her sons; Frank Flanders and his wife Leona Davis, and James Flanders and his wife Donna. She had 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial Service for Eleanor on Saturday, April 15 at 1 PM at the Milford United Methodist Church at 327 N River Rd., Milford NH. She will join her husband in the NH Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make “helping others” donations to SHARE in Milford NH.

R.I.P. Aunt Eleanor I called you this morning for another of our conversations. Imagine my surprise at hearing your phone had been disconnected. It was then I knew that you had moved on and were now back with Uncle Pete. I am so happy for you to have left this mortal coil and all the trials that you faced with such dignity. I will miss our conversations and your sage advice. I still haven't run since you told me I was too olde. You were right again. LOL Goodbye

I knew Eleanor through the MUMC youth group. I visited her many times during senior visits and chatted with her often after Sunday Service. She was always such a bright spot for me growing up. Eleanor really impacted me more than she knew. Although I am no longer in NH, I think of her often. She was a beautiful soul and one of the kindest people I've had the pleasure of knowing. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

Condolences to the Flanders family. Eleanor was such a wonderful lady, we often talked at length at Cahill Place when visiting our mother across the hall from her. Many memories of the Flanders over the years.
