I am sadly just becoming aware of my dear , dear friend and former teacher's passing as of today. Eleanor was and is my lifelong friend and godmother to my youngest son. I was aware of her health issues but I never knew she had passed. She was my science teacher in 8th grade at St.Peters school and we maintained ties throughout our years. I loved her and love her still. She is a saint on earth and a wonderful woman.May God cradle you in his hands my dear Ellie,I will miss you always and see you again .

Sr. Ellie was a wonderful inspiring woman of faith. I spent a lovely year at Carlow College in 95/96. She always had a warm smile and kind words for a homesick Irish girl. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam (May she rest in peace).

I had the pleasure of having Sr. Ellie as my office neighbor at Carlow when she was Campus Minister. She was always there for the students and loved to participate in all our Residence Life/Student Life activities. Especially the St. Patrick's Day Parade!! Heaven has gained a great lady!

Sister Ellie was a great friend and confidante throughout my teens and early twenties. She supported me throughout difficult times and always encouraged me to move forward. Thank you for all that you have ever done for me!
"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."

Sister Ellie and I always had deep discussions on racial injustice and inclusion. She was always eager to learn and willing to act. She was truly an ally and I was always comfortable talking with her honestly and directly. I enjoyed every moment of our working together and still have the beautiful gifts that she shared from her travels.~ Barbara Johnson, former Carlow employee

Elle and her family lived next door as we were growing up in the South Hills Area. She and my older sister were great friends and I and her younger sister were great friends, and still are. Have many good memories of our childhood especially, and as we grew to become adults remained in touch. A truly loving, warm and caring person. It was unfortunate that Elle was subjected to the illness that took her from our lives. I shall miss her.

What a great person. I had the privilege of knowing Sister Eleanor over many years and she was "always" a complete joy to be around. We have lost a great person and Heaven has gained a holy and loving human being.
Peace,
