Eleanor Mekelski Obituary
LEICESTER - Eleanor M. (Wojciechowski) Mekelski, 76, of 4 Virginia Ave., Rochdale, a section of Leicester, died Friday, August 29 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Leonard J. Mekelski, Sr., two sons; Lenny J. Mekelski, Jr. and his wife Grace of Lehigh Acres, FL., Stephen J. Mekelski of Rochdale, a daughter, Stephanie M. Mekelski of Palm Bay, FL., a sister, Christine King of Princeton, 4 grandchildren; James, Jenna and Lauren Riopel, Benjamin Mekelski, a great-grand-daughter, Sophia; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Joseph V. & Helen A. (Dolengiewicz) Wojciechowski.
Mrs. Mekelski was a phone operator at New England Telephone & Telegraph for 7 years, retiring in 1961. She also worked as a day care provider for 5 years.
She was a member of St. Aloysius/St. Jude Church, Leicester and its Ladies Guild.
She worked on the committee for Boy Scout Troop 125 in Rochdale. She had a love of family, playing piano, music, dinning out, playing the lottery and spending time with friends as well as traveling.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday, September 3 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Aloysius/St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Boy Scout Troop #125 Leicester c/o Boy Scout Mohegan Council, 19 Harvard St., Worcester, MA. 01609.

I am very sorry for your loss. I can still remember her giving me a hard time because I would dress like a punk when I came to pick up Steph ( on my bicycle--it was a long time ago). May she rest in peace.

Thank you all for your kind words,fond memories and support to our family during this most difficult time. With deep sorrow we have lost the Matriarch of our family. My Mom and Dad were truly each others everything..through sickness and health the good times and bad. We are honored and blessed to be their children..they have made us the people we are today and instilled our strong family values. With great thanks and love to all..Lenny Jr. Stephen and Stephanie Mekelski...To my Mom...You are not just my Mother..you are my best friend. I will miss you deeply and am heartbroken over your departure from this earth. Mr.Mekelski, Lenny, Stephen and Stephanie I am so sorry for your loss. she was such a great woman. I remeber your family driving me to high school in worcester every day and how she would always make sure I had a breakfast and a cup of coffee.
She was a wonderful woman and I hope that all your happy memories will help to ease your pain in time.

To Lenny and Family,
I just spoke with John and learned of Eleanor's passing. I am so sorry for all of you. How well I remember her sweetness, kindness, delicious baking, and infectious giggle at all of the holiday celebrations with Irene and John in Auburn when I lived next door to them. She was always so family oriented and a wonderful wife and mother of her adored children. She will certainly be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you face this time of sadness and grief. May Eleanor rest in peace with the lord and enjoy the company of Auntie Irene once again ....
