Dear Stephanie, Ricky, and Danny,
You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. Aunt Aileen was always so vibrant and enthusiastic, and told great stories. I saw her last when we visited Vancouver in 1991. She and Uncle Ben took my mother, sister, and I to lunch at the Sylvia Hotel and to feed the pigeons at the market. We had such fun that day. What I really liked about Aunt Aileen is that she was very kind to us, and that she didn't judge anyone who might be a little different -- she seemed to appreciate those differences. She was so honest, and accepted people just the way they are. What a wonderful, loving person. She was unique, which is to be admired, and which you do not often see anymore. She was visiting in Calgary one time, while camping with a friend. I was captivated by her stories because there was always something unique -- a different way of seeing the world. She was really nice to us -- and made us feel happier, because, although I only saw her a few times once we came to Calgary, she always made us feel special and loved. On the occasions when I saw her, she always talked about the three of you (Stephanie, Ricky, and Danny)with enormous love -- family was truly the most important thing to her. My sincere sympathy in losing your mother.
Love,
Linda Reiffer
