ELEANOR GAIL CALDER STOKER Aiken, SC, died peacefully at her home on May 4, 2018 after stoically battling Parkinson's disease for many years. Gail was born in Montreal in 1933, the only child of Eleanor Kathleen Parker Calder and Robert Osborne Calder. She was a retired nurse practitioner. Survivors include 3 children, Deirdre Stoker Vaillancourt (Michel), Dacre Calder Stoker (Jenne), and Tara Stoker Bostwick (Charles), and eight grandchildren, Calder Reardon, Schuyler Reardon (Jordan), Desmond Reardon, Belle Stoker Holmes (Nick), Parker Stoker, Tara Gail Bostwick, Eleanor Bostwick and Charles Bostwick. She was predeceased by her husband, Desmond Neil Stoker in 1983 and by her companion, Philip Banister, in 2014. Gail's family thanks the special group of compassionate caregivers who ensured her comfort throughout. After private cremation, the family will receive friends in a joyful Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions be made to charities of friends' choice.
