What an inspiring life and what a blessing to have had her to be a part of your life. I know it must be painful to say goodbye. I hope it might bring some measure of comfort to know that Elene's birthday was on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, a Catholic remembrance day in honor of Mary (Mariam) the mother of Jesus and all the prayers said and answered through the rosary. Although not Catholic, she was comforted by the very thing her birthday celebrates and now was holding as she starts her new life in God.
I pray God's peace surrounds and comforts you through this time of sorrow.

A beautiful woman, a beautiful story. I read about Elene's life in an article on a news site. Thank you for letting distant strangers know it.

Her obituary is making the rounds of the internet and I happened to see it as I was so sad to hear that the election was in part responsible for her demise. Many of us are doing our best to see that she did not die in vain. We will be making a significant donation to the Clinton campaign in her honor. I grew up in Corsicana and am appreciative of her contributions to society. Furthermore, my mother is being encouraged to hang on long enough to vote in the election.

She and Leon were loved by us all at HRC. I played tennis with Leon shortly before he passed. There had been another Leon Davis who passed away before him. My last conversation with him started with "I read you had died!" I was able to sit about an hour with him while he told me about his companies, his sons, The Lucky Leon field. interferon and a host of impressive events in his life. Elene was a true southern lady and I never saw them together when they weren't happy and smiling. I will miss them both.

My condolences go out to the entire Davis family. I only met Elene a couple of times but she made an impression on me as a strong and independent thinking woman.
