Nelson and family, my condolences to you on Eleni's passing. How beautiful she was! I would run into Eleni in Toronto and Palm Desert and her warmth, elegance and grace was exceptional. The last time I saw her she surprised me - she threw her arms around me from behind me and as it had been years since we had seen each other, I was so touched by her warmth and loving spirit. II will never forget Eleni and her lovely presence. Blessings to you Nelson... as well as her sister, daughters and grandchildren.

Dear Nelson and family
"Remembrance is a golden chain death tries to break, but all in vain
To have, to love, and then to part is the greatest sorrow of one's heart
The years may wipe out may things but some they wipe out never!
Like memories of those happy times when you were all together"

I was assistant Front Office Manager at the Georgia in the summer of 79 when she & Nelson purchased the hotel. They had great plans for the hotel which they followed through on. So sorry to hear about Eleni.

Truly a special woman who will be missed by so, so many - from her precious family and close friends to those whose lives she may only have touched once. Whether greeting her guests at the Wedgewood or attending a social function or fundraising event, she was warm and gracious to all.

Gracious, classy, smart, beautiful, tough but fair. Eleni was an inspiration. She loved to exercise and worked out with us for a number of years at Terpsichore and later at Sweat Co. When we needed to move our business location in the late 90's I called Eleni for advise. She not only gave me lease tips, she insisted on coming along to look at possible spaces (her gorgeous white suit in my Honda! Yikes!). RIP Eleni, I will always remember your kindness and incredible business savvy. mo xo

Eleni created many meomories for the guests and regulars who were part of the evolution of the Wedgewood Hotel. Many friendships were struckup. Many evenings of laughter and fun. Eleni was the most gracious and intuitive hostess. She was one of a kind. My condolences to the Family and at the same time we can all celebrate a truly remarkable person.

A remarkable & beautiful woman is gone now and those of us who enjoyed the grace and hospitality of her Wedgewood Hotel feel that the world is lessened somehow because Eleni Skalbania is now not a part of a fine establishment. Thank you Eleni for creating such precious memories.
My condolences to your family and the staff of the Wedgewood Hotel.
