``TOGETHER FOREVER"

Eli Blazeff

Eli L. Blazeff, 79, went home to be with the Lord on October 3, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.

Eli was born January 28, 1928 in Kenmore and resided in the Akron area his entire life. He attended Central High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the B.F. Goodrich Co. in 1990 after 45 years of service. In 1962, he started the Akron Salt Delivery Service delivering water softener salt to homes in the Portage Lakes area. He expanded his route to include homes and businesses in the Summit, Stark, Portage and Medina counties before retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Canton and belonged to the Allenside Athletic Club. Eli loved to hunt, fish and tend to his garden but most of all he loved to golf and spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Viola; his parents, George and Bessie Blazeff; and his sister, Mary Schoonover. Eli is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (LuAnn), Mark (Julie), all of Akron; stepson, Larry Taylor of Palm Springs, Calif.; brother, Lalo (Jane) Blazeff of Lake Wales, Fla.; sister, Elinor (Jim) Moles of Tallmadge and Nancy Rose of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Jason (Sue), Ben (Jessica), Jeffrey II (Amber), Christopher (Danelle) and Erica Young; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Trinity and Corey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Eli also leaves his loving companion, Helen Kintigh.

Thank you, Helen, for your love to Dad and for making him so happy these last eight years. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Summa, especially Deanna and the staff of Palliative Care for all of their compassionate and loving care.

When I first met Jeffrey I would have never expected to not only get a beautiful son and husband, but such a loving and wonderful family along the way. And the one person, the glue of their family, was Grandpa Eli.
Eli had a zest for life. He had an energy that proceeded him, a smile that made you think everyday was a good day, a bounce in his step, and always a twinkle in those big beautiful blue eyes of his.
At first I just thought it was the "old fashioned" way. It wasn't,i would come to learn, it was the Blazeff way.
Grandpa Eli was always quick to make a joke, and always willing to be the target of one- Grandpa taught me the value of humble humility.
When he went dancing, Eli led. When he walked down the street, he walked on the street side. Whenever it rained, he held an umbrella. When coming up to a door, he would open it. He didn't advance at the expense of others, but instead often bolstered others at his own expense. He taught me patience and compassion, and that chivalry is not dead and integrity essential.
Humble Humility
Chivalry and Integrity
Patience and Compassion
Selflessness and Empathy
Dignity and Grace
These words do not define Eli, Eli's actions define these words.
It's no wonder Grandpa was called so soon-even the angels have some lessons to learn, and now they have the right man for the job. He was an angel on loan to us, and we were lucky to share such time with him.He may not have been my biological Grandfather, but he was my Grandpa none the less and the best one a girl could ever be so blessed to have, even for a short time. We love you Grandpa, and will carry you on in our hearts forever.

When I was a little girl, my brother Sam would take me to Marks house. Mrs Blazeff would make a refreshment. Marks Dad always had a smile. Going there was wonderful. Years Later I took art classes in the Blazeff Basement from Larry. It was always nice there, and the white cat with the blue eyes. You will always be remembered.

Jeff, Mark & families; You are all in our thoughts and prayers here in Florida. I will miss my uncle Eli and his big grin and the big hug and kiss that always went with it. "Vicki Suuuuuu" he would say before the hug and kiss! That is how I will always remember my uncle Eli. I will never forget his tremendous love of family and love of his best friend since childhood; my Dad. He was there for his best friend till the end, for that I will never forget. We love you all, God Bless and may the Peace of our Lord be with you Always.

From your loving son in Palm Spring California. I know in my heart that you are now at peace with your wife and my mother in Heaven where you will continue to share your love and devotion to each other forever. I will always remember the values you taught all three of your sons as well as the discipline we needed occasionally. Your love and willingness to always see us through both the good times and the bad will always remain with me. I send my love and condolences to all the member of our family and especially to my two brother Mark and Jeff, their wives and a very special "THANK YOU" to Helen for being there for Dad all through those painful and sad days of his illness. I know how hard these last few months must have been for you and so I reach out across the miles and say "BLESS YOU" for all the love and devotion you so wiling gave to our Dad. We will all miss him terribly, but he will LIVE ON IN OUR HEARTS AND IN OUR MINDS and so he will always be a part of us and our lives. Death is not an end, but only a new beginning.
