Elias Perales Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 2, 2015.
Elias Ruiz Perales was born on May 24, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri . His parents, Pedro Perales and Dominga Riuz, originated from Mexico. There were 9 siblings in the family, 7 boys and 2 girls, Arnold, Eduardo, Gavino, Elias. Daniel, Ruben, Hugo, Lloyda, and Ester.

The family came to live in Kansas City as Mr. Pedro Perales was a well-known cowboy boot and shoemaker and many ranchers in the states of Kansas and Texas sought his custom boots and shoes. Elias' father also invented and sold the patent for a machine that was used to sew boot and shoe soles, providing the means to buy a home in Kansas City, Missouri and in Mexico.

In their early teenage years, Elias and his brothers began working to help support the family during the Depression. While the sisters remained with their mother, all the brothers separated and moved to start working and learning new trades in places like Chicago, Detroit, and San Antonio.

Over time the eldest brothers, Arnold and Edward, introduced the auto repair and restoration trade to their brothers that in turn lead to long careers and helped them all to support their own families.

Elias Perales was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. While he completed his tour of duty, he was proud to serve his country yet he knew it was not consistent with his religious teachings against taking others lives and this weighed greatly on him.

After the service, Elias sought out his brother Daniel who was living in Tijuana, Mexico with his wife Carmen. There in Tijuana, Elias met his future wife, Francisca when they happen to bump into each other at the entrance of a local store. From that moment and until his passing Francisca was the love of his life. Soon after they met, they married and had a family of six children, 3 girls and 3 boys, Ruth, Alma, Anna, Michael, Elias, and John
along with two step-sons and a step-daughter, Samuel, Gilbert, and Martha.

Elias settled in Los Angeles, CA with Francisca and their family. He started his own auto repair and restoration business and began the formation of a church named "La Casa de Dios" with Brother Godinez, based on the teachings of the King James Bible by Brother Duggar, a brother in the faith with our grandfather Pedro Perales.

Elias throughout his life dedicated his time to God and family. He was a church minister, elder, and well-respected member of the congregation.
Elias enjoyed time with his family and is survived by his 6 children, 19 grandchildren, and 7 great-children.

Of the many blessings in Elias' life, God also blessed him a well-deserved and peaceful passing at the end of his life on March 1, 2015.

On behalf of the Valenzuela family we would like to express our condolences. Growing up as neighbors your parents' compassion for others was profound. Your father was a very distinguished man who exemplified a strong family structure. He was a caring man and close mentor. His legacy carries on within all of you. It's difficult to see beyond the sorrow, but memories seem to help comfort and heal. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathy for your loss.

My father was a devoted man to God first then his family. He always told us that God came first in our lives and to never forget. We never did without food, clothing or shelter. Dad provided all we ever needed and was always the provider of the family. Dad was also the foundation of our belief in God. He made sure we went to church always. For that we are forever grateful. Dad was a hard working man. to look at his hands was to see the hands of the greatest man that ever lived. Dad you will forever be in our hearts and
in our memory. Sleep daddy until we meet again. Say hello to mom for me. Tell her i miss her so much.

For my beloved cousins. The memories of our childhood and the friendship our parents shared are priceless and live forever. The comfort they provided to each other on their Vegas junkets are beloved treasures. As Bob Hope sang "Thanks for the Memories" that is the legacy that these hard working people, (our parents) left for us.
love you all CUZ"s

Our hearts are filled with great sadness with the passing of our brother, Elias Perales! He was more than just a brother to all of us. To many of us, he was a father, a brother, a friend, a counselor,a mentor, a leader. His life was an example to follow, filled with love, generosity and gratitude.
I, so, admire his love for our Lord, his courage and his strength. His love for our Congregation was extraordinary. He fought the great battle with great pride. He taught us not to be afraid and to fight for justice! He was a great and fierceful leader! We all looked up and will continue to look up to him in the years to come! All of us are so proud of him and can only hope to continue in the path that Christ came to teach us to follow as Hno. Perales did!
We will miss him a great deal! However, he will live in our minds and hearts forever! There is no forgetting a person like our brother, Perales. I, personally, will always remember him!
We want to thank him so much for all his hard work and all that he gave up and did for us!!! We are greatly indebted to him and his dear wife, Hna. Panchita! We love you both!
Hno. Perales was a wonderful and loving father to many of us!! We will continue to work and march forward until the end as he did! I pray the Lord will continue to guide us and protecting us until the end!
Many blessings to the Perales Family. Peace to you all!! Ana Dinorah Hite

I was so blessed to have such a wonderful Father. He taught me to fear and love God and to know that without him in your life you will not find peace in this world. He taught me the meaning of faith. He always honored God as long as I can remember. He honored his family and his loving wife. Family meant everything to him and he showed it by the way he loved me and my siblings. When he wasn't at work he was with his family or with his extended church family. He never discouraged me during my childhood when I went through my tomboy stage. He let me have so much fun being one of the boys, and taught me how to throw a right hook even though my mom protested. I remember when he taught me to drive and when he helped get my first car. He was a stern teacher but patient. My heart aches for this wonderful man who took such good care of his family. He would tell me that that I was to good to him when I would take him to church or his appointments. I would tell him I had a lot of catching up to do for all the things he did for all of us. He would tell me it was his duty to take care of us. I would tell him that it was our duty to now take care of him until he leaves this world. I will miss watching the Dodger games with him. I will miss him waiting for me on the porch with his smile when he saw I had finally arrived. I will miss you so much Daddy. Tell Mom and Diego and Barry we miss them so much. Love, your daughter, Anna.
