I don't want to be cliché, but this man right here stood out above the crowd, if not for just being nice on the surface, but for actually giving a damn about people from a real place in his heart. I remember when I lost my daughter, I had no idea that he even knew. He was pulling a shift at Flashback and when I casually said hey to him, he extended a hug and his condolences with true care and compassion in his eyes. He and I were only really acquaintances, but still knew each other all throughout high school as we played ball and shared classes together. Still, he kept track of everyone's well-being not as a chore, but as someone who, again, gave a damn. The world needs an Eli for those bad times, which is why I was overly heartbroken to hear of his passing. To his parents, please know that you did a good job raising him to be nothing less than a great role model, and a standup gentleman. He didn't share an encounter with anyone - he shared his positive influence and love. He will be missed dearly by everyone who was privileged enough to have known him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Elijah from high school. I remember him being a happy, bright kid who always had a smile on his face and was willing to always brighten anyone's day. He truly will be missed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Eli through Cameron Starr at Beallwood Baptist Church, he was so sweet and polite. He was a good man.

I will miss hearing about Elijah from my brother Nicholas. Whenever Nick spoke about Elijah, there was always a smile on his face! Elijah brought good energy into Nick's life. I will miss him.

My son and I had the pleasure of recently meeting your son at Charlie Graingers just a short couple weeks ago. He left a huge impression on us. I wish we could of gotten to know him better. His personality was so grand. I knew that in just the 15-20 mins we spent with him. Our sincere condolences are with you and your family.

I had the pleasure of being acquainted to him in my Spanish class back in high school and he was certainly a kind person. For someone like me who didnt talk much, he came from out of nowhere and started a meaningful and thoughtful conversation with me. His way of being able to talk to anybody and share his wealth of compassion and kindness was amazing. Rest peacefully Elijah.

It's taken a few days for me to process this and I can't even imagine how this is for his family and loved ones. My condolences to the family and all who knew him well. I knew him for such a short amount of time during high school, but wanted to let you know he was wonderful. He had this giggly, goofy, kind, warmness about him that could take a bad day and make it better. And I guarantee you if he ever saw me again he could and would address me by name. You could tell he was just that kind of guy. He made sure everyone was included, and made sure to make friends with anyone and everyone he encountered. He literally lit up every room he entered and brightened anyone's life he came in contact with. His legacy of laughter and kindness lives on

I have thought for the last few days on how to tell you how much we love you. I am so sorry for not being in touch in so many years. Mike, Laura, and Courtney you guys will always be family to us. Eli was Justins first best friend since Justin was 6 weeks old. Eli has changed how all of us have lived life. He was always such a shining star in every life he met. You guys are amazing parents to have raised such an amazing man. We love you guys so much, Andi, Dave, William, Justin, and Dylan.

You were my first friend when I moved to Richmond Hill, never excluding me from neighborhood shenanigans. You blessed the lives of so many and left a huge legacy of kindness and laughter. Thank you for being you.

A light such as Elijah's shall never be extinguished. His is the light that beckons us ever forward to a new day and a new adventure.

I live next door to Nicholas Korths, the man that Eli came to help, so very often. He mowed my grass, often, as a teenager. I was (and still am) very heartbroken over this news. He was one that I always expected to see again. I looked forward to seeing him well and happy, in his life & he always seemed so very happy.
Eli was like a bright and shining star, so handsome, always smiling, kind and considerate. His manners were absolutely impeccable. I always knew his family must be just as wonderful. Thank you for raising him so very well and thank you for sharing him with us. I will definitely plant a beautiful tree in his honor & I pray that God will supply you the sufficient peace and comfort that you will ever need. If my faith in God proves to be correct, your Eli is still alive, in the very most beautiful place and his memory will live on in my heavy heart, till I breathe my own last breath.

We are SO SORRY to hear of your loss! It seems like just yesterday when we were all in Germany and the kids were running around playing. Rob and I are praying for your family; such a SAD time for all!! :(

Oh Elijah...our hearts have been so heavy since we heard of your passing. You had us from hello, when you were our server at Wild Wings. The smile that everyone is speaking of and the genuine loving, refreshing spirit that lit up your eyes...all will be remembered until we meet again. We sure did love you fella...I've never met a nicer young man than you. RIP Eli...we want a great big hug when we come thru those pearly gates buddy! We knew him briefly but that's all it took to love his gentle and kind soul. Words cannot express the sadness at this time. Love and condolences to his family.

One of my favorite students ever. He was such an awesome person and made teaching worthwhile. My heart truly hurt when I learned of his too early passing.

I did not know your son and I usually don't do something like this! I read his obituary and in doing so I felt as if I did know him. I wish I had known him because there are not many people in this world who are the type of person your son was. I pray that you find the comfort you and your family so richly deserve, as I truly believe that is what your son would want. This was one of the most beautiful tributes I have ever read. I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful and compassionate young man. May you find peace and comfort in the future and know that your son will always be with you.

Nothing stops the pain and tears from losing someone you love, especially your child. Even though it hurts, it doesn't have to be a permanent goodbye. Would God allow us to love each other so deeply and that be discontinued permanently by death? Comfort each other and let him live on in your love.

Our boys had the pleasure of playing rec baseball together for many years. I have many fond memories as their scorekeeper cheering them along and reminding them to always believe in themselves. Our boys shared growing up together in the Hill and all that it offered, from grade school to graduation. I lift you all in prayer and ask that you be comforted knowing that Eli touched so very many people. May peace be with you.

What a sad day it was for me when I got the news. I met Eli about a year and a half ago and we hit it off immediately. We talked often but not enough lately but our conversations were insightful and enduring and I will never forget them. Eli was a good man who really set the example. Great attitude and sparkling personality. You will be missed my friend . My condolences to the family and to all of Eli's friends.
