Elisa C. Avelar

Central Falls – Elisa C. (Jesus) Avelar, 74, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Francisco O. Avelar. Born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Jesus. Elisa was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. She enjoyed sewing and making custom draperies for her family and friends. Elisa was a longtime parishioner at St. Anthony Church, Pawtucket, where she always attended Mass and the parish’s feasts and celebrations. She was also a member of Grupo Amigos Da Terceira, Pawtucket and always looked forward to the annual Carnaval celebration. Elisa leaves two sons, Francisco Avelar and his wife, Lucille, of Pawtucket and Helio Avelar and his wife, Sandy, of North Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Gabriel and Lucas Avelar; two brothers, Antonio Jesus of Brockton and Fernando Jesus in Terceira, Azores and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Delio and Diamantino Jesus. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 32 Lawn Ave., Pawtucket.
