Elisabeth Wakefield "Betsy" Doermann

Betsy brought intelligence, grace, good humor and quiet elegance to all she did. She was a presence. Our hearts go out to her family and close friends.

Betsy was the strongest and most principled woman I have ever known. Her courage and perseverance were an inspiration to me. Her spirit lives on not only in her family, but in everyone she touched throughout her life.

Betsy was a "force of nature". I had the privilege of working at Wilder during her long tenure on the Board. She exerted her quiet and forceful insight and grace at every critical moment - she was a role model for me and an inspiration. Our shared New England history

Ellard's and my heart go out to Betsy's extended family. Betsy was a special woman who brought so much good into the world. Her wonderful memory will live on forever.

Thinking of Betsy this morning and the wonderful things we accomplished at St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis. The Mill City Museum stands there today as a tribute to her persistence and love of history.
