Our condolences to the Critchlow family. Eliza came to visit my mother, Mary Ann McGunagle Tenos, frequently in the past couple years at Asbury Heights. She was bright, cheerful, and a blessing to everyone she touched!

Eliza was the first person I met when I went to work at the Merton Center 20 years ago. I remember the moment well, her welcoming ways, and the rich conversation we had, the first of many that followed. There is a wonderful photo of Eliza's mother holding her, as an infant, and superimposed on it -by accident!- is the logo "War is not healthy for children and other living creatures." The photo still hangs at the Merton Center,to remind us of a life well lived.

My sincerest condolences to brother Ross, nephews Richard, Tom, and the Critchlow family. Eliza was a very strong and positive force in my life. I will always remember her as as not only a good friend but as an inspiring artist and teacher. She was the most egalitarian person I knew. She not only liked and loved everyone she came in contact with but was very non judgemental. Gentle and rare. This planet has lost a very dear and caring lady. Peace be with you Eliza and your family.

Dear Critchlow Family:

I met Eliza Critchlow when our steeldrum band played at Carlow a few years ago. We have the same last name except she has a "t" in her last name and she wanted to meet our family. She was a very nice and personable woman. I'll never forget her. May God Bless her soul and all of you.

Eliza was a life-long friend of Rose (McLaughlin) Henrici, my mother-in-law, who passed away two years ago. As the designated family scribe, I'm writing to express my condolenses and those of her daughters, Ellen, Sarah, Natalie, and Amy (my wife). Eliza made a wonderfully positive impression on all of us.

I'm sorry to hear of Eliza's passing. I spent many special occasions at my Nunny's with Eliza, I have fond memories of her teaching us origami. My most recent memory is when she attended her Carnegie Tech class reunion while I was an undergrad there, she had such spunk that she even went for a hot air baloon ride ! She will be missed.

I met Eliza just a few years ago, I will always remember her kindness. Our profound sympathy is extened to the family.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand

Eliza was a wonderful long-time fighter for peace and justice. I will always, fondly, remember our joint arrest and brief jailing protesting development of nuclear weaponry some years back.
A most delightful, wonderfully postive person.

I have many wonderful memories of Eliza from decades ago. She was good friends with my late aunt, Claire Ward. They traveled together to the Southwest to paint and sightsee. Eliza and I gardened together, took local trips for organic material and new plants. She was a kind and generous soul whose serenity made a big impression on my then twenty year old self. One her paintings hangs in my living room and I will always treasure it and my memories of her.
