Elizabeth Bradley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2023.
August 22, 1939 - January 23, 2023 Elizabeth Franco Bradley (Korander), beloved mother and friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 23, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. Born August 22, 1939 in Los Angeles, Liz spent her childhood in Tijuana, Mexico and San Bernardino, and her adult life in San Diego and San Francisco, and finally returning to Los Angeles in the mid 90's. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law Eva Marie Bradley Green and Robert Green, and granddaughter Hannah Isabelle Lemberg of San Diego, CA, daughter Elizabeth Leigh Bradley and her partner Robert B. Broadbelt, III, of Los Angeles, CA, and a large extended family.
Liz lived with unique panache. Her joy for life was infectious. She dreamed of being a Broadway star and sang and danced every chance she had. She graduated from St. Bernadine's High School in San Bernardino in 1957, where she was glee club president and a cheerleader. She earned a merit scholarship to the San Diego College for Women, obtaining her B.A. in Sociology in 1961. She performed in theatrical productions, was in the Civic and Choral Clubs, and was a song leader. In 1962, she wed naval officer Frederick Lewis Bradley, Jr., with whom she shared her two daughters, who were her greatest joy.
Liz found her professional passion in a career in law. With two young children, she graduated from University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1977, later serving as President of its Alumni Association. She enjoyed an illustrious career as a formidable trial lawyer, founding her own law firm, Viviano & Bradley, and later forming Bradley & Bradley, LLP with daughter Elizabeth. She mentored and employed countless women and minority law students and attorneys over decades. She was a true pioneer.
Liz lived a life of service to others. She tirelessly championed several charitable causes, most notably the Associated Alumnae/i of the Sacred Heart, serving as President of its Los Angeles Chapter, St. Brendan Catholic Church, HopeNet, ARCS Foundation, CIMA and iPalpiti Artists International. She offered her time, knowledge and resources to those in need, stranger or friend, from all walks of life. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 310 S. Van Ness Ave., Los Angeles. A memorial will be held in San Diego on a future date. Of service to the end, Liz asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Alumnae/i Association of the Sacred Heart, Los Angeles. Memo line, "The Liz Korander Bradley Memorial Fund," AASH LA, 12400 Ventura Blvd., Suite 548, Studio City, CA 91604.

Liz was a part of our family for 30 years. We enjoyed many Thanksgivings and Christmases together with our shared family members. She also joined us for a Christmas getaway to Deer Valley. Her beautiful smile and fashion style will be things I will remember most about her. RIP Liz. You lived a remarkable life and your daughters and granddaughter will joyfully carry your love in their hearts as they know they were your most precious possessions.

I was deeply saddened today to read about Elizabeth, passing in the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper. She was so uniquely special and someone you looked up to on every level. Her effervescent, personality, energy, intelligence , wit and kindness made her not only a star, but an earth angel. Elizabeth paved the way for many women in so many ways. What an honor to have known her.
