Elizabeth Burchard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 21, 2025.
Mrs. Elizabeth Mae Burchard (Tardiff), age 78, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Bradley, Maine. Born on May 17, 1946, in Bangor, Maine, Elizabeth-known affectionately as Liz-lived a life rooted in love, family, and tradition.

A proud graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1964, Liz carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life: loyalty, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. She was always there for her family-a steady presence who could be counted on through every season of life. Her listening ear and gift for storytelling made her a cherished confidante and companion to many.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, Blanche Emmerson and George Tardiff, as well as her brother Dennis Tardiff. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Burchard; her loving sister, Theresa Wyzkowski; and her beloved children Deborah Carlsen and Fred Schiffer. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Her devoted nieces Tammy and Khelsie Heidemann held a special place in her heart. Liz was deeply loved by all of her family.

Among Liz's many talents was her legendary skill with lobster-earning her the affectionate title of "the lobster queen of Maine." She delighted in teaching others how to extract every last morsel from the shell with precision and care. It was just one example of how she shared not only knowledge but also joy with those around her.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Constellation Hospice for their compassionate care during Liz's final days. A special thank you goes to Angie, Danette, and Ali for becoming part of the family and treating Liz with dignity and love.

May the memory of Elizabeth Mae Burchard bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

You were always Elizabeth to me. I have the fondest memories of you babysitting me, teaching me how to do "the bop", and giving me rides on my Mom's vacuum cleaner. I Looked up to as a big sister. You will always hold a very special place in my heart. With so much love , Nancy
