I´m so incredibly saddened to see this. My son, Jake Blumenau went to Merricats with Sam and I got to know Elizabeth then. I was looking forward to catching up . She was an incredible woman whom I admired

So sad to hear about Elizabeth's passing! She was a wonderful person. Tom, I don't know if you remember coming to Kentucky and going to the Grand Ole Opry with Richard and me. Years later, Elizabeth and the boys spent the night with us in Auburn. Blessings on your family and sending prayers and love. Carol DeArmond Barry

We lived right next door to Elizabeth and her beautiful family for 30 years. My memories are of many wonderful gatherings and parties. One that stands out is our Y2K New Year's Eve! We gratefully have two special pieces of her art in our homes. I will miss her presence in my life, the chats standing in front of our houses, going to her art openings, seeing her perform in a play, going with her to kids production and so much more.

My name is Gerry Solley Johnson a nd I grew up calling Elizabeth "Bibba". Infact that is how I remember her. We always had great fun when we were all at Mamaw's and Papaw's place in Columbus Mississippi. (family vacations). she was the oldest of the granddaughters and lead the trio in what we would get into. We only got to see each other 2-3 times after we were grown but I have always loved her so. I am so sorry for your loss. She was a treasure.

Elizabeth was a dear friend and important member of our Northampton art group. It´s hard to believe she´s gone.

Elizabeth and I were friends and artists who worked together. While Elizabeth was a painter ...we sculpted together from a live model...learning from each other and sharing the struggle. Elizabeth was a wonderful artist...an incredible hostess...cook...gift giver...and mother. The Caine children worked as our models when they were very young. They knew how to model as they started out as little ones ...sitting for Elizabeth. My head is full of memories...my heart is full of pain. May her memory be as a blessing

I remember Elizabeth vividly from my interactions with her as a child. Her exuberance, creativity and generosity of spirit struck me as profound and rare. My heart is with you all. She will be so missed. Love, Liz Cohen Scheer

I'm feeling an overwhelming sadness at seeing Elizabeth's obituary in the New York Times today. We became good friends when she came to our small high school in Bowling Green KY our senior year. Her physical beauty and sweetness were matched with her intelligence and artistic talents. I have wonderful memories of speech tournaments, guitar playing and songs, and I can still hear her tinkling laugh. My heart is filled with love and memories, and thoughts of care for her brothers and all who love her.

What a sparkly soul! It was always inspiring to be with Elizabeth. We meet through the Massachusetts Festival of the Arts, spear-headed by Don Sanders. We worked together, socialized and traveled together. Elizabeth´s love, caring and devotion to her family, community and friends was an operative part of her being. Her sons and great partner and husband, Tom, were an integral part of who she was; if you knew Elizabeth you knew her family! They will carry on a glorious legacy. Elizabeth will reside in my heart and soul forever. I feel blessed to have know her. Let´s keep the inspiration flowing! I send my love to you all and regret that I cannot attend the celebration of Elizabeth´s life this coming Saturday, but say with assurance: I shall be celebrating Elizabeth´s life forever.

My heart is broken- I cannot comprehend the world without your beautiful smile. You were my first friend when I moved to America, and the love, generosity, kindness, silliness that we shared will never be forgotten. The void that you leave is immeasurable, but the memories of you that I have are endless. I greatly regret not having been in touch over the last few years, however, you were never out of my thoughts. I count myself blessed and truly fortunate to have met you, your beautiful family, and shared in a part of your life. I love you, Elizabeth, and always will. Kym

I've known Elizabeth for 56 years. Longer than almost anyone. Once she decided you were one of hers, she never let go. I'll always love her for that.

Elizabeth was my sister-in-law but in all ways my true sister and best friend. Her kindness to all, especially my children, was limitless. I will miss her every day. Lots of love.
