Elizabeth S. Clark Cooke

Elizabeth S. "Betty" Clark Cooke, 92, a lifelong resident of Cross Creek, passed away Wednesday morning, November 18, 2015, under the loving care of the staff in Evergreen Personal Care Home, Washington, where she was a resident for the past two-and-a-half years.
She was born March 25, 1923, a daughter of the late Richard S. Clark, M.D., and Helen Hindman Clark.
A 1941 graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, she was a homemaker and enjoyed going on bus trips with her husband.
She was an lifelong active member of Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church, where she played the piano and organ, and was a member of their Ladies Aid, Friendship Circle and Mariners.
Her husband, Wayne C. Cooke, whom she married on March 14, 1942, in the Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church, passed away February 27, 2007.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Cooke of South Carolina, Edwin Cooke and wife Nicki of Burgettstown and Dennis Cooke and wife Karena of Avella; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas H. Clark of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is a brother, Richard S. Clark II.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, in Cross Creek United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bill Roemer officiating. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to the church Saturday morning.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Cross Creek Cemetery.
