Such a good friend in Juneau - I will remember her and cherish her friendship. In one of her letters I still have to me she noted "Poor Chris is all banged up" So many memories to hold on to. Sincerely, Pat Loken

Betty and John Daugherty were close friends of our parents, John and Helen Stewart. I was just a kid . Our dad was a physician in Juneau. Whenever the Daughertys and the Stewarts were in the presence of each other it was an uproarious event - a lot of laughing, eating , imbibing and story-telling. Betty was a delight.

Memory Eternal Mrs. Daugherty.
Always a big smile from John, and yourself when ever you ran into Rob, and Mary's son on your walks in town, or when I'd run into you at the swimming pool. I remember a dinner at cashen quarters when I was still just a pup , and for some reason that memory stands out the strongest.
Much love , and respect

I loved reading this wonderful tribute to Betty. I'd forgotten some of the many ways she contributed to life in Juneau, and some of her history I never knew. She was, indeed, ahead of her time. Thank you for sharing her story with us. A good life!

Please accept our condolences on the loss of your beloved Betty. She grew up with our mom, Josephine Fanucchi Audap, in Bakersfield - Mom always spoke fondly and admiringly of Betty and enjoyed the visits they had later in life in Juneau and Los Osos. Two amazing women, beloved and much missed. Audap, Shallies, and Dyar families

Betty, Mrs. Daugherty, was not only the mother of one of my favorite friends (Christine) growing up, but in adulthood one of my dearest friends . There are know words to express the love and respect I hold for this dear woman. May you rest in peace so well deserved Mrs. "D." We miss both your parents, and love each and everyone of the Daugherty Family. Thank you for being the great people you are.
